The museum, which opened in June 2008, uses the motto “Preserving Our Past for Our Future”. It features American Indian and pioneer artifacts, including steam boating on Dorcheat Bayou, a log cabin, furniture, and clothing as well as material from the American Civil War era. Exhibits include local theaters and movies that were filmed in Webster Parish, some of our areas famous singers and songwriters, the Coca-Cola Bottling of Minden, and the tragedy of 1933. Tours are free to the public.
